Sound is really important in film because it sets the mood of the film and creates atmosphere while watching the move.Sound is especially important in Thriller, Horror and Action film because with sound in those kind of genre, there is no meaning or emotion among the audience. Sound makes the movie as realistic as possible and engages the audience throughout the film. In thriller movies sound is the main element that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. High pitched sound is often used in horror and thriller movies as it keeps the audience feel uncomfortable and it shows that something unpleasant is going to happen. For example in Se7en which is a great example of Thriller film. However Gone girl still does have that element of sound but its completely different to Se7en.
