Editing Journal 2

We begun editing by uploading all the video clips that we have filmed and putting them all in a final cut pro. Once, it imported Bethany put the clips in the right order to build the structure of the narrative. She then used the blade tool to cut out all the unnecessary parts of the video or filming mistakes that may have occurred during the filming process. I helped her out on structuring the narrative by telling her if the narrative made sense.

Location

We some difficulty when deciding where to film our title sequence. We wanted to film in an attic as the attic will be dark and creepy, which will create eerie atmosphere ad create suspense as you can’t really tell or see anything due to the darkness. This will also show that she is re-opening the evidence and clues from the previous investigation because all the evidence are kept in the attic, which is not a place to keep everyday things!. However we couldn’t find an attic to film our title sequence so we had to do with a shed. This turned out good then we expected as it kind of looked like an attic on the video as we changed the filter while editing in final cut pro.

We also decided to make a montage to break up our title sequence and to continue the pace. We decided to film road signs and arrows to show the journey of the main protagonist in order to find her missing brother.

Editing Journal 1

Today we edited the first part of our title sequence. Bethany looked up for few new reporting of a missing child from different website and then we downloaded few clips on final cut pro and started editing and putting them in section and cutting them until it came out as a one new report. Bethany then added transition and buzz noise to make is appear as though its up in the Tv and the channel is changing but the story is up in every channel as it's vital. This begins the narrative and builds tension.

Feeedback sheet from our title sequence

This is our feedback sheet that we got back after the we presented  the first draft of our title sequence. As you can see from the feedback sheet everyone really liked the stop motion and voice over. However they didn't really Like the filter as it was took dark but we are going to keep the dark filter as it suits our genre better as it gives the creepy and errier look and it meets the codes and convection of thriller.

     Missing Boy Poster

We created this poster through photoshop. We as a group really wanted to go for realistic image to put on the poster so our viewers could connect with the child on the poster. Also to show what the film is going to be about ad who is the missing child.

The reason we choose red for the bold writing was because we thought it would stand out more.

We came up with this name "Logan Ray" as a group.
This poster enhances the meaning of the whole film, along with the evidence folder and the rest of the props that we've used.

                                                                Thriller
Within our group we decided to do social realism first, but when we had to research about our genre we didn't really find much about social realism, so we as a group we decided to change the genre we first choose and changed it into thriller. When we decided to do social realism genre we came up with some idea for the title sequence but, the idea that we came up as a group didn't really fit into the social realism genre because of the twist and the mystery. After that we decided to look up more into Thriller and it was more easier to find out more about thriller genre. So we all looked up, Gone girl and Gone Baby Gone and we really liked the idea of Gone girl so we decided to make our title sequence comparable to gone girl, and we completely changed our first initial idea completely and we came up with different idea which suits the genre. The genre we choose the second time which is thriller and we decided to stick with this genre.

Pitch Feedback sheet

Feedback from Pitch

THIS
is the feedback sheet that we got after we presented our pitch. As you can see on the feedback sheet that our pitch did not display the narrative of our title sequence and the whole film very well so we will have to work on it and make it clear and understandable fro our audience by adding more information about the narrative. They said it doesn't link with the genre so we will have to find a way to link it to our genre and we are going to do this by adding codes and convenctions of thriller genre.

so that the audience can link the idea to the genre better.

One thing that w did do well is the casting as people agreed that the casting would be suitable to the roles and film and would attract an audience due to their star power and previous films that are similar.
